Main river port in Kyiv, is situated on the right bank of Dnieper in Podol district, the historical part of the city. Since ancient times Podol used to be the commercial centre of Kyiv, and the merchandise usually arrived by water. In 19th century the number of piers appeared alongside the right bank. The new port building was erected in 1953-61, its tower resembles masts of sailing ships.

Главный речной порт Киева, расположенный на правом берегу Днепра на Подоле, исторической части города. С древних времён Подол был торговым центром города, товары на который доставлялись преимущественно по воде. С ХIХ века началось движение судов по течению Днепра, и ряды пристаней раскинулись по правому берегу. Новое здание, башня которого напоминает мачты парусных судов было построено в 1953–1961 годах.

Yes, it is really in Kiev. Ok, not exactly. “Pirigovo” the name of park-museum, architectural – landscape complex under open sky in suburb. Here you can find all historical- ethnographical areas of Ukraine. Museum was opened in 1976 and it’s located on the field of 150 hectare.
